I was super excited to join up with Kate Oates for this amazing sweater. Kate and I have a years old running joke about her being my only preppy friend and me being her only rocker friend. You gotta love an inside joke!
When I started laying out plans for LL Yarn I suggested we work on something together. I told her it would be so fun to have my dream sweater. She was on board thankfully and we got to work on a wide shoulder, simple, oversize, pullover. We tossed in some heavy drop stitches to play to my rocker vibes while keeping a classic front. I am a complete sucker for a back detail. I really love the end result!
We picked LL Yarn Space Sock as out base because it is my favorite yarn in all the land to wear. It has great drape while still having clean stitch definition. It has this fiber called Outlast in it that helps regulate body temperature so you never get hot and you never get cold. It was developed by NASA to use in spacesuits originally before being used in other applications and making its way into yarn. Thus, Space Sock.
The really fun part I think is that, at least for now, LL Yarn Space Sock will ONLY be available as part of the Matrix LL Yarn Space Sock Kit. We pulled the color selection down to a tidy dozen shades and they are all in super limited addition. I hope you love the colors Kate and I cooked up!
